2010 Won Onkyo International Braille writing competition (Excellent Works Prize in Junior Category)

2010 Won Young Achiever of the Year award for Cambridgeshire and was invited to the European Parliament in Brussels to try interpreting aged 10

2010 Interviewed on BBC Radio 4 (twice) and also on Heart Radio in Cambridgeshire.

2011 Presentation on The Sarajevo school for the blind in front of 350 people in the Guildhall, Cambridge to commemorate the Holocaust.

2011 Starred in RNIB promo film for World Book Day raising awareness of the lack of books available in Braille.

I would like to ask you a few questions as a short interview via e-mail for a website about education for children with a vision impairment in Australia.     First, congratulations on Alexia’s notable achievements!

    My name is Betsy, an editor of Commonwealth Publishing, from Taiwan. We would like to write about Alexia’s story in the news section of Global Kids Monthly, a Mandarin children magazine.

    We would also like a photo of Alexia to go with the story. Would you mind to kindly send me some photos of Alexia, preferably with tools relevant to her achievements? (i.e. with language learning tool sets, etc)

I’m a producer for Korean Television, KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) and we are very keen to show Alexia’s story to our viewers in Korea. We are here in the UK from next week to meet with individuals with disabilities to capture and take back their inspiring stories. Our programme is a daily 30 minute programme specifically dealing with stories of individuals with disabilities.
